Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) New Game Intro

This is the scene that plays when you start a new game in Dragon Quest VIII on Playstation 2

I'll be making more vids of this game so i might as well tell you my basic gameplay srtategy:

I always put over 100+ hours into this game. I never move onto the next town or dungeon until I can buy the best equipment in that area (it's like that in all DQ games...seriously) or make the best equipment alchemy recipie's for that period of the game. I always level up more than I should, to the point where the world and dungeon monsters are easy.

I love this game and in my opinion it's the only PS2 game that remotley resembles any of the retro RPG's, not much has changed other than the graphics and the length of the game as far as the dragon warrior/quest story goes, and as my fans know, I love old school stuff.

If you want to know what to expect from me about his game, expect visual dungeon walkthru's and Boss battles.

With Skill points, I match the characters level for courage, humanity etc. Meaning...If my main char is level 20, then he'll have 20 points in courage, if Yangus is level 18, he'll have 18 points in humanity. thats my main skill priority. Secondary is Swords for the hero, Scythes for Yangus, whips for Jessica, Bows for Angelo.

I have 150 hours+, best equipment at lvl 63, weapon skills and second skills(courage, Humanity, Charisma, Sex Appeal) maxed out, and can't still beat Darksteel Dragon! Do I need Dragon Soul to beat it easily?

It helps, yeah. Also if you have 1 or 2 timbrels of tension, it helps even more.

Oh, I have both Timbrels since long time ago. Thanx for the tip anyways.

Heh, well I know how brutal that dragon can be. Have 2 characters use the timbrels and have the hero or Angelo focus on healing every round. The Darksteel dragon has low hit points so a few rounds with some psyched up damage should take him out, if you're lucky.

if the weapons are swords for the hero then y do u use a boomerang?

Because the boomerang attacks every enemy. I ended up using the boomerangs through most of the game.

Omg one of the best rpgs on the ps2! great music and has lots of challenges this was my first rpg I have ever really loved Artificial Raven thank u for bringing back so many memories lol

@AyesThatsme Dragon Quest X is coming to the wii and apparently it will be sort of like this one, theres supposed to be a trailer of the game included with the 25th Anniversary Collection thats coming to wii.
