  • Berman = pathetic

  • @DavidHenesy Bottom line (and true fans hate me for this too) the very SPIRIT of Star Trek died with Gene Roddenberry. He had an incredibly positive influence on every person he worked with and was there as a creative guide. Not long after his passing we can see a gradual darkening of the Trek universe that contrasted with his brighter view. Roddenberry's spirit lives on but probably not the way he'd want.

  • @DavidHenesy Well, I saw it in the theater because my boss at the time thought that since I was a trekkie, blah-blah-blah. The paper I wrote for paid my ticket so I couldn't really object. Everyone thought I would give it a glowing review. "This is an exciting action-adventure movie set in the future," I began, "But it most definitely NOT a Star Trek movie". I spent the rest of the review explaining why it wasn't. To this day people still bash me, calling me a "traitor" and so on.

  • BTW I am a Star Trek fan (true or not..whatever), and therefore did not go to see something erroneously called "Star Trek" that was at the metroplex, yet have watched every single clip of it that featured Leonard Nimoy in "it" and have those portions of him in "it' on blue ray that a friend made for me. It was truly great and moving to see the REAL Spock again, one last time. (Whatever the REAL Spock means to me that is.)

    Peace & Long Life,

    Sophia

  • @spacecowboy5000 Pardon, I used to think I knew what Star Trek was about and likewise about what a true fan was or is but barely do Trek much anymore not since they killed off Kirk it has left a sour taste in my mouth and a bitter cup of the dreg's of something once noble, All are entitled to their opinion's but there was TOS a show and then some good TNG's boldly going where no one had gone before, I enjoyed a Star Trek recently on HDCable it was ST Insurrection. I liked DS9 too, no Voy, or Ent

  • @DavidHenesy I can't help but wonder what a "true" Star Trek fan is. I've been watching since 1969, love all the shows and movies but I have a rather negative view on Star Trek fandom. I don't think there is such a thing as a true fan.

  • I wish when they deleted scenes like this, on the DVD releases they would not only include them separately, but also optionally allow you to reincorporate them into the film. I would have loved to see the orbital skydiving scene in the movie.

  • @DavidHenesy

Scotty and Checov just don't cut it. I'd rather see Bones and Spock with Kirk.

  • Rikers face when worf gets back on the boat...PRICELESS

  • @BuddhaMaster84 No, it was a finished scene and another Berman botched last min cut, all three original Trek actors were greatly disappointed and so were we true Star Trek fans. Pity someone didn't fire Berman years before he got the axe with that space garbage Enterprise show, a real pity, he almost killed Star Trek.
