Ailen Run is a fun xc trail. Very little altitude gain or loss, if any, a couple technical spots, through Juniper trees, sandstone and meadows. Only 10.0 miles that takes about 1.5 hours to ride, Alien Run is the best in the area. Riding solo.

  • good job, although setting up the camera to have to ride back to it does not sound appealing.

  • I love to ride more than I hate wasting time.

  • wow if you think think that looked cool its worth a hour drive to the border of Colorado and going to Phil's Word its amazing. there are probably videos on here of it but go to Cortez to there bike shop and they have maps and everything but yah its amazing

  • I live in Redding, CA now, but I'll check it out next time I'm visiting friends in the area. Thanks!

  • Wow. Is that one trail or several? Planning an MTB road trip in the NM area and that looks great.

  • Just one trail. It's actually a loop that's about 10 miles I guess. Check w/ Cottonwood cycles in Farmington, NM for some good directions. Nice people there. I live in Grand Junction, CO and Alien Run is one of my favorite rides.

  • my dad and uncles created this trial. love you guys!

  • I ride this trail all year round! Live in Durango and can ski on Saturday and Ride on Sunday! Great vid!

  • my dads cousins created this trail :)

  • seems like the alien trail and also the road apple trails are hard to find. I finally (years ago) figured out how to get on the road apple, but I searched a couple times for the alien trail with no avail, I gave up since im originally from durango, there was always moab, cortez, and durango but this trail looked fun. good job on the vid. looks like I missed out!

  • **No signs marks it from the road** Take Hwy 550 North from Aztec, NM. About 4.0 miles north of town go right on Rd 2770 / Hart Canyon and go about 1.5 miles or so. Take a 90 degree right turn (north) for about 0.5 miles. Another 90 degree right turn (east) and follow .25 miles to the end / parking / trailhead. Ride counter-clockwise. Easy to follow. About 10 miles I guess.
