Training for Olympic Games as an Alternate. Here's a Power Snatch workout from the blocks, with 83kg for a triple, at 69kg bodyweight. I don't prefer to use straps when working off the blocks.

  • a) look at how far back the hips are at the beginning

    b) watch how far the head/chest thrust backward during the lift

    c) notice that the hips thrust forward and the head/chest thrust backward, effectively changing places (front-to-back & back-to-front)

  • and she's not even that muscular. She's like perfect.

  • @ownedlol123 It gives the impression that she hits the barbell but she doesn't. Her technique is perfect and she triple extends optimally. The timing is perfect so that the hips go forward and the barbell is shrugged a split second later, then she goes under the barbell.

Feel free to check my blog and videos for more Olympic weightlifting-friendly content.

    All the best.

  • She will make a fortune teaching this to professional athelets

  • It's amazing. Just amazing...

    I have a question:

¿why Cara kinda hits the bar with her hip and then gets under it when performing the snatch?

I'm told by my weightlifting coach that i should lift it with my legs and by rising my elbows.

Is because i'm a noobie in this sport? or is a different technique?

  • Beau travail!

  • well done

  • MUCH RESPECT 2-U.

  • Do you hit the barbell forward with your hips? my trainer doesn't let me do that, I want to show him that you have a heavier snatch than me.

  • any body know if she's trying for London?

  • She throws her head way too far back. She should be far more upright at the top of her pull.

  • crazy strength right there, im 21,m, at like 75kg and I couldn't even do that once.... not yet anyway
