BTW, I agree, the original Manchurian is awesome. Got no opinion about the remake b/c I didn't bother seeing nor do I care. Besides...Who needs a remake like that when you got Nowhere Man?

I bought the Manchurian Candidate special edition from a Borders store a year ago with a coupon. It was really cheap after the coupon around $5. Nothing else caught my eye at that time. I still haven't watched it. I have the remake on DVD as well. I probably should see the original ASAP.

thank you! all my co-workers liked the remake better than the original... buncha bums! the remake was weak, especially how they pussed out at the end.
and i' sorry, but meryl streep can never compare to angela lansbury. hell, darth vader and hannibal lecter can't compare...
and i loved johnny mnemonic! did you ever read the story? they had to expand it for the movie... kinda good, kinda bad, but a fun movie all around!

Have you gotten around to watching the Scream Trilogy yet? I remember having seen them a long time ago but I have no idea if they were any good. I was real young when I first saw them.

Not yet, we were re-watching all 8 series of Red Dwarf the past couple of weeks, and at the moment we're absorbed with Exo-Squad (which is just awesome). I'll probably watch them on my own at some point, Annetta's not that keen on seeing them.

I love crime dramas )thanks mostly to Scorsese) does The Manchurian Candidate really fit in in that genre?

More of a political thriller than a crime drama, I'd say. Assissination conspiracies, brainwashing, good men coerced into doing bad things, that sort of thing. Very tense and well made!
