High Quality Videos from Original File.

I am Cosplaying as Izayoi and Dance on Stage at Hellofest 2008.
I wear Juni Hitoe (12 layers of Kimonos). I put Karaginue and Mo. I sew the Juni Hitoe by my hand base information that I gathered from Internet. Thank You for the people that put their hardwork about Juni hitoe information on the internet. It's so helpful for me.
My Juni hitoe weight is more less 3 almost 4 kg.

About the dance, I immitate the Heian Japan Priestess based on Youtube. Forgive me if I'm not doing it correctly. Performance only 3 minutes so I choose Inuyasha OST 3 minutes song and the dance that has to be slow, I must fast it ^^ Gomenasai

I adore Inuyasha - sensei Rumiko Takahashi's manga. I'm fallin in love with Heian era because of INUYASHA.

Thanks to Shura_magami Chan this video is belong to her.

Thanks to Waditya that held the Event with his team in Hellofest 2008.

  • well it is very beautiful. I am enraptured. Japanese dances almost no one dances. you are the charm:: "

  • Thank You ^__~

I am cosplayer and because I cosplay as Izayoi and must do act in stage. I have to learn Japan Dance from Youtube. Thanks God there is youtube ^^

  • Amazing how much fabric is needed!

Did you use a sort of polyester to make it cheaper (I imagine it cost you a fortune to get this much fabric for twelve layers!) or did you use some other fabric?

I imagine silk would be too costly - the silk costumes used at the Jidai Matsuri festival are worth several million dollars!!! I can only dream of seeing them up close... but you have one at home. :D Lucky!

  • Yes. I used Satin with two different side. One side is glossy like common Satin, the other has dove side. I use the dove side not the shiny one. Originally Juni hitoe use Silk. I never dare to use Silk. It so expensive beyond my reach. You can choose subtitude though, for Karaginue there was Ethnic Cloth from Sumatra. It called Songket that has almost similar with Juni Hitoe pattern.

You could sew too. If you want too ^_~

    Thank You

  • Wow, amazing! :D

The music and dance go together very well, but it's a shame you couldn't do it at a slower pace. I believe juni-hitoe demands slower and more regal movement, but you had only 3 minutes.

The only thing that distracted me was the trail - it got tangled when you moved in a circle, but I'm too used to see geisha and onnagata move it so perfectly...

What amazes me the most is that you sew the whole dress yourself!!! How long did that take and how much fabric did you use?

  • One Kimono took 3 days or one week and I have to finished 10 pieces include Karaginue and Moe.

One Kimono need 9 meters of Fabric. It supposed to be longer but I have to cut it in half because of the budget. The original Juni hitoe need 4 meter front and back (8 meters). I used 2 meter for front and back (Total 4 meters)

Thank You for the comment ^^
