My Gosh. I thought I would never more see this movie. Philipe de Broca is (was?) a genius and his King of Hearts enters our hearts. I fell in love with Jean-Claude Brialy and Michéline Presle at the same time.

bought the rare dvd six months ago, and watch it once a week. Saw it first in the 60's in Chgo a true cult classic with midnight sreenings and coffee house discussions. I agree if movie was made earlier, maybe millions of lives would have been saved. Perhaps we should send it to all world radicals to watch NOW!

Saw this movie 5 times... maybe 7. It says so much in 2 hours. If it would have been made (and understood) earlier, there would not have been a first or second world war, saving 80? some MILLION lives.

And I always asked myself this question who were the crazy? who lived their fantasies when the town was abandoned? Or the soldiers who were killed in that stupid war? I think the answer always knew.
