Incredibly annoying video title.

Hmm this is a pretty groovy version!

@jeffkahl Terry did play it on the record. He's a good friend of mine. Glen played the backwards intro on the record.

This was the Song that Started the PSYCHEDELIC Movement. . AUSTIN PSYCH FEST 2011

That ain't country. Kenny has always had a soulful sound to me - now I see why. Great post.

Playing bass and singing the lead at the same time is a bitch in the first place. Most people can't hack it. Depending on the bass notes it can be like playing a lead guitar riff over your own vocals.

Damn, Kenny got pitchy when the key changed. Either that or the old tape was dragging.

i knew there was a reason i never liked his music

@moorlock2003 Exactly what I wrote on another posting of this song. LOL And it is indeed the best thing Kenny Rogers ever did.
This is the song that started it all for the first edition, but it could have also ended here. Their second album bombed. However, they bounced back with their third album (which featured "Ruby" and "But You Know I Love You")!
You don't hear singers like Kenny on the charts these days ... and you don't hear real bands like the first edition anymore!

Hard to replicate the studio recording, but they do and OK job of it. "Just Dropped In" was the best thing Kenny Rogers ever did.
