This is the original and much superior version of the Stevie Wonder classic "I Wish" from the album Songs In The Key Of Life (1976).
There is another version of this song on You Tube that claims to be Stevie, but is actually a cover by an artist I am unfamiliar with.

Well at Earth Wind & Fire monster concert in 2011 Stevie joined the stage and he said that
During an recording session of the songs in the key of life he heard an EWF 75' hit song
"Shining Star" and he said that this song inspired him so much that he just came back and
start writing "I Wish" right away!
So both EWF and Stevie Wonder were always like brothers even though stevie was in the business long before EWF formed in 1969!
You can do a comparison of both songs have similar bass line!

Ahh, those good old days when this song first came out: my parents were alive; fond school memories; sneaking a smoke in the high school girls' restroom; getting drunk in the cafeteria with vodka in my Thermos (I was one of those rebellious PKs ["preacher's kids"]); pleading with the principal to not call my folks; turning on the "waterworks," hoping it would keep Daddy from grounding me! Those tears were fake then, but they sure-as-hell are genuine now! I love and miss you, Mama & Daddy!
