The McDonalds have been active in the art scene for several years showing Jimmy McDonald's colorful abstracts in galleries and art festivals in Houston and across the country. While Jimmy's canvases continue to evolve as he develops his technique, Sheryl's creative mind has been incubating new ideas of expression in three-dimensional media.

The result is that she has begun creating distinctive human form art, using mannequins as her "canvas" and applying various themed imagery to communicate the unique theme of each form. The imagery is printed using archival quality paper and inks, and she applies the images to conform to the shape of the mannequin, giving careful consideration to color balance as well as the placement of each meaningful image.

The result was debuted in November at the Nance Street Galleries during the Art Crawl in downtown Houston, and the result was nothing short of fantastic. She sold her premiere piece, and received requests for custom commissions as well as information on the upcoming pieces she has in development.

Her forms show well in conjunction with Jimmy McDonald's large, vivid abstract pieces. Mixing pure abstraction with human figures and landscape motifs, McDonald communicates his love of life, his deep spirituality, and the passions shared by all people. His work is owned by many prominent collectors across the country, and his distinctive style can always be recognized when shown in local galleries.
