Minecraft - Castle World - The cycle of death

I was testing out the draw bridge, and I tried to drop a spider down the hole. But, it didn't fall and got stuck on the redstone bridge and followed me over anfd killed me.
For some reason, my spawn point exists on the bridge itself. No where else. So I keep spawning, falling, and dying.
