Monica was just way too good for MJ in this match. It was kind of a dull final, but it was great seeing Monica win another Slam.

@russianskatingfan Where was I comparing Seles to Nadal in terms of her being able to beat him (or any male player)? I merely said that her approach to the game differs from his: Nadal is more about defence, whereas Seles was more about attack. That's all... :-)

@italo36 yeh imagine what monica did after the stabbing ( while over weight and not mentally as fit.. and imagine what she could have done if she wasnt over weight and mentally affected. I believe that monica could be greater than graf

@juancarlos772652 Women always have guys that are atleast of a higher level than them as their hitting partner. That is the case for Serena and Venus as well.

@willissuperb you cant compare any women player to a man. Nadal would destroy Seles or any women 6-0, 6-0 if they ever played a match.

Such fantastic, aggressive abandon in Seles' game. Though you could argue that Nadal has a similar focus and determination, his game is based more on spin and tireless retrieval that that of Seles, which is based almost entirely on attack, attack, ATTACK! And at her peak, she attacked with such accuracy that any purely athletic limitations she may have had became invisible. Wonderful stuff.

the biggest injustice was to see Graf win all of those slams after the Monica stabbing and Seles would never be the same player again mentally or physically battling a food addiction because of the stabbing and the death of her father.
she was overweight most of the time, she could not compete in a long 3 set physical match and mentally she was never the same again either.
Graf's 22 slams will always be in doubt as the stabbing was a huge help for Graf's tennis career.
