Hello! Thanks for watching my prototype interactive whiteboard demonstration. I'm Callum Haywood (www.callumhaywood.com), a 15 year old computer enthusiast!
UPDATE: I'm no longer working on this project, it's just not good enough!!!! I've moved to the Wiimote method to create an interactive whiteboard! Will post some videos demonstrating it soon - stay posted!
As you can see, it's not too good just yet, but I'm still working on it. It's a little out of calibration, but it actually detects the laser beam and moves the green dot accordingly. It works with other things too, like torches and remote controls (due to their IR sender). I'm thinking about making a pen for it, so the end that'll be facing the projector has an IR sensor on it, therefore allowing the pen's position to be picked up by the webcam and manipulate the mouse movements.
The technology I use for this is an EyeToy webcam, Optoma EP721 DLP projector and the built in laser in it's remote.
EDIT: I'm sorry for the background music, I used YouTube's I'm Feeling Lucky button on AudioSwap because I forgot to mute it in editing and left the sound of the TV on lol.
i dont get how this works, but i have a eyetoy and i will use a tv remote for the pen and my screen as a touch screen :)
