This was my 1st attempt in developing a line following robot using the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 kit. The robot was made with the NXT 2.0 basic kit model with a color sensor attached to the front. The track was simply made from taping printouts of black lines together. NXC was used for programming the robot.

  • how does it know to turn left or right when it looses site of the line?

  • @aNickzz The color sensor shines red, green, and blue light. When the robot goes off course and slightly to one side, it would detect one of the colors. So the robot is able to distinguish between the left side and the right side and turn appropriately. It's really a hack and not the actual intended use of the light sensor.
