The Social Justice movement is very harmful because it requires government intervention (government taking the place of charities). Glenn Beck's comment was about this. Beck is a free market guy so he is all for voluntary charity action, not the coercive apparatus of government trying to crowd-out charities.
I am very opposed to Campolo's comment encouraging government intrusion taking the place of charities.
I'm glad that Tony clarified that while he condemned Israel's wrongdoings, he still supported Israel overall. To refuse to acknowledge the wrongs of one side while declaring & decrying the wrongs of the other is no way to reach consensus & reconciliation. Perhaps the reason why Tony was condemning only Israel is due to the fact that Israel is the most likely gov't to make the changes necessary to secure everlasting, mutual peace in the region unlike extremist-led Palestine.
LOL, I think there are a lot of families, including me, that have a "meltdown" when it comes to Dispensationalism & Eschatology! One day, when I've studied enough, I might actually understand theology, but 4 now, it goes way over my head. Thanks again 4 these series of shows. I love when Paul is on with y'all. He adds a lot. I will miss SWM&T when it ends. I was a latecomer 2 the show but since I don't like 2 sleep, it didn't take me long 2 catch up. I love shows that make me think & SWM&T has!
I have to admit, Tony has helped soften my opinion on some things, but social justice isn't one. You make your bed and you lay in it. Good talk series, though :) Enjoyed it.
