A few years ago my x-girlfriend was spending the night at my home.

I own a sks witch alot of morrons belive is an assault wepon.

    We fell asleep around 11:00pm.

At 2:00am. A man broke in to my house. We both woke up. I grabed my rifle and loaded it with 7.62x39 (the same has an AK).

Made it to my living room and saw the man had a pistol.

    I cocked my gun

are guns are not here just to defend us from criminals but the government, our founding fathers said if we did not like what they were doing feel free to shoot us. because of the geographic and economic status we live in crime will happen more. country's like japan have a different moral's and government than us so its safer there. but in places like the UK, knife's are becoming a main killing weapon. they are actually thinking of banning knifes!

Where? In Japan? in Canada? In Norway? Where are these violent acts not happening because of the incredible proliferation of gun commerce? Who .... as in which country has an NRA which has infiltrated government acted to prevent violent gun acts? What other countries are having this conversation?

True ..... but with so many guns from pistols to AK 47's available to all and everyone ..... there is no freedom in the US. Other countries do not suffer from the same fear that the US suffers from. How do people in Japan, for instance, deal with theft when they do not have ANY guns available to them? How do people in Europe or Canada deal with these problems? No other nation has as much death by guns as the US. The issue of gun violence is uniquely American. So simple.

No odisy64 .... I was not saying guns are bad and neither is the movement that is trying to regulate guns. There is a movement active now that is trying to bring common-sense regulations to who can legally own guns. That's all the debate is about. There is a very large portion of the US that is asking for stricter regulations so that certain kinds of guns be regulated. They are asking that machine guns which can fire 45 bullets in as many seconds be more strictly regulated. That's all.

Guns are not the problem, its the people. we lost the war on drugs, do you really think a criminal is gonna care? even cops sell seized guns to criminals, this happened after sandy hook and it received no airtime. if someone wants to do you harm, they will get you one way or another. gun or no gun.
