  • @DontFzll Soooo Raven!!

  • @Excaliza In these guys' defense, Wikipedia is.....not the best of sources. But this does not at all sound like Marienthal, so I agree hahah

  • That picture threw me off so much; I thought the video was frozen.

  • If you've played this before, you know how challenging it is.

  • He needs to do Superstition or Sir Duke next.

  • I'm glad I listened to this before reading all the confusing comments about who the hell is playing the alto sax solo.

  • @jthekk2

kk, I never said you didn't know Marienthal's tone, i simply said that his tone is pretty god damn bright/buzzy, nor did i say that Sanborn didn't play here. I also never tried to offend you.

  • @jthekk2 or go to youtube: v=fYT4MAleO6I, if you can't hear the difference between Marienthal and Sanborn, then you haven't listened to either enough. I've been playing sax for 14 years and I've transcribed entire albums by both of them. The other comments are incorrect when they say Sanborn played for the band before Marienthal. Marienthal is on this recording as 1st Alto, Sanborn is just the soloist/featured player.

  • @Excaliza Go on Wikipedia and look up the album "The Phat Pack," look who's on sax for the track, and then come back and tell me I don't know Marienthal's tone. If you still don't believe me, buy the album (the CD not mp3s) and look in the liner notes.
