@yacetube Agreed. The self-assured nature is astounding. I wonder how many Americans would think we were 'exceptional' as people if they had grown up in the mid-1800's before oil. The days when killing a Chinese railroad worker might result in nothing more than some stern words from the local police. Life was hard and living standards were meager. At least the majority of us weren't obese.

One of the great things oil has made possible is dropping a great big stinking load on top of another great big stinking load that some other guy left unflushed. You know some poor bastard is going to have to unclog that toilet and you're just glad it's not you. I believe you are wrong. The jeezuz freaks are the ones stocking up because they know what is going on. You have to remember that they have freedom of thought as well. Ignorance knows no boundaries and can be found across all religious lines and boundaries. Some people just do not know. They have not been exposed to peak oil theory and other truths that are self evident. This is caused by the fictional environment most people grow up in a.k.a. public education.

Really? From where I stand, most earring wearing pussies seem to be addicted to shopping and international travel. They're not explicitly pro-oil either but at the same time many of them, like you, doubt a reality where oil is scarce will ever come into being.

We can hope that these people kill each other but sadly they'll take many of us with them. What I've learned from observing terrorism in the Middle East for the last ten years is to never underestimate desperate people. They' re capable of anything, except rational behavior. In other words, the terrorism of the future will be in the form of hungry fellow citizens.

The domestic quantity of oil he's talking about is just the oil we can pump out with then-current means of drilling, not the total amount that exists in the US. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pro fossil fuels, but there's always some earring wearing pussy ranting about the next doomsday scenario.Kunstler spoke at my college in 2003, and explained that within a decade americans would rely heavily on water as a means of transportation. It's been nearly 8 years, and I still don't know any gondoliers..
