This man puts metal shredders to shame.
And me too.

Los muertos will wake from their epochal sleep if they ever hear this played above their graves. They will come back from the big sleep to settle all their scores. Martin Simpson is a wizard. Some of his tones conjur up scenes of the afterlife of all the souls who were given short shrift and settled into the clay too soon...

this is a master musician doing the work that needs to be done, in my opinion.

I`ve bought many Martin Simpson albums and they are all brilliant. This performance is extraordinary. Thanks to museum of making music for this and the other wonderful clips.

Dear Martin, yuz one of my greatest inspirations as i twang my strings every day, how ya got there (wherever you are inside when you play) you amaze, amuse and stagger me, but sniffing around I'm unable to suss out what Tuning you play this in, despite the Capo on the 3rd! Pllez enlighten do. Then I can spend the next 4 years trying to play it like you before being IMPERTINENT enough to do so in front of others, lol

@lisa67iz That device is called an EBow. When held over a plucked string, it sustains the string's vibration using a magnetic field. Martin explains it in the next video in this series "Martin Simpson - Concert Conversations Part 1" at about the 2:47 mark. You can also learn more at EBow.com.
