FIRST OFFICIAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE - Pokemon Heart Gold & Soul Silver

The moment we've all been waiting for!!! The Pokemon Gold and Silver remakes for Nintendo DS have been officially announced in a Japanese site. The link is here:

This is the first official gameplay footage of the games, called Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold. The clip was shown in the Pokemon Sunday broadcast in Japan, on May 10, 2009.
The games are supposed to come out in Japan in the late fall of this year. Hopefully the North American release will only be a few months after (cross your fingers).
In the clip we see Gold walking around New Bark Town being followed by Chikorita and Silver staring through the window of professor Birch's Lab.
Not much is currently known about the games, but I will update the vid as more info comes up. For now, check out serebii.net for more information.

First details from CoroCoro:
A new female trainer is to be utilized in this game instead of the female one introduced in Crystal. There are more pics showing the Starter following you in places including Violet City & Azalea Town, indicating that it doesn't just follow you to Cherrygrove and back. It seems that there will also be cutscenes upon entering a location (like the ones in FireRed/LG). There is also an event in the game that utilises the Pikachu Coloured Pichu, that you obtain by pre-ordering your ticket from the 12th movie, within the game at Ilex Forest, featuring the Notched Ear Pichu as well.

UPDATE-May 13, 2009:
It has been revealed that in HG & SS, the touch screen will have access to the actual in-game menu, with the bag, Pokemon, save, etc.
