Friday Live on Tyne Tees

Fabulous off-centre dusty film Tyne Tees animated logo with as-usual-flat music. Followed by quite funky Quantel-type title sequence showing vintage TV studio cameras. This clip ends with the beginning of the show: the studio audience rather ominously singing 'we'll have a barrel of fun' with piano accompaniment.

From 'Friday Live', Autumn 1980. The golden age of local TV. Sadly almost all of Friday Live has been wiped.

The ITNSource website seems to have a catalogue of the Tyne Tees archive. But there isn't a single Friday Live listed. It is sad that it has almost all been lost.But I have one more clip to put up.

I'm sure there was a clip of Friday Live on Victor Lewis Smith's TV Offal (around 1998) that had a clip of Friday Live where a student dressed as Batman had a strange contraption in his pants that started expanding and exploded. Seriously!

Yes, I used to stay up to watch this - Chris Kelly and Gillian Reynolds. Doris Stokes seemed to be on every over week and there was a few others on there, one week one psychic claimed she knew where the Yorkshire Ripper was - very strange stuff! Great to see the theme tune again, as crap as it is, i never forgot it! LOL
