  • LOL TO BAD IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH! AND IT WILL NEVER!Amending the constitution to fit a limited, homophobic, heterosexist, narrow minded, ignorant and uneducated view of your religion is probably the most RIDICULOUS thing Bush or any hate mongrel Republican could ever make up! This is NOT a theocracy, "god" does not rule the country, WE rule the country, and if you chose to believe differently than good for you! but SOME people would like to live FREELY, OPENLY AND HAPPILY WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION

  • Different is separate but equal; there is no logical or moral reason that holds up for anything less than equality.

  • I love at 5:55 Bush says "this issue of national importance should be decided by the people not the courts".....uhhh george, wasn't your presidency awarded to you by the courts and not the people? Jackass.

  • I love that Bush's daughters just came out in support of gay marriage.

  • Gitj9. This is not about rights, it's about Values and morals. It's a bout procreation and the truth that our nation was founded on. Marriage is sacred. ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL -- with different roles.

  • what an idiot. sounds like blah blah blah to me. and those of u who support this...ur anti-american in my opinion. what happened to separation of church and state, bc we all know thats often the basis for this argument. what happened to the fundamental AMERICAN belief that "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL". we need to get back to that and all u homophob's need to just give it a rest. we are motivated by our need to feel socially equal. u are motivated by discrimation.

  • Bush had not intention or expectation that this amendment to would have legs. He needed to throw a bone to the religious right to pander to their interest. He used the religious right as a voter delivery system.

Tha same thing was done before with abortion prohibition.
