Senator Cornyn, Local Leaders Announce Arrival of SWAT Vehicle

On May 1, 2009 U.S. Senator John Cornyn, R-Texas, joined with local leaders, law enforcement officials and first responders to announce the arrival of the new, state-of-the-art SWAT vehicle-the only one of its kind in Northeast Texas. This vehicle was purchased with federal grant funding awarded to Gregg County through the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security's State Homeland Security Program. The SWAT vehicle will be shared regionally by law enforcement officials who will use it to carry out high-risk operations.
