cold start 2240 john deere diesel tractor

awesome cold start of our small john deere diesel after sitting dormant for 3 months its about 13 degrees out at the time

The front end of that tractor kind of looks like it is home made. It really doesn't look like the front end that was originally came with. I don't know why I think that looks home made just kinda does.

@GearHead1625 yeah its just sheetmetal, the old plastic peice got banged up and was way too expensive to bother buying a new one

it starts like that from being cranked so much. the compression heats up the diesel and eventually it fires

We had a JD1120 3 cyl loader started the same way. Amazing engine however I was cringing when you let that poor engine rev when it was that cold. You idled her down after a minute but that hurt at first. awesome vid , just my 2 cents

That was not good, your gunna burn your starter oout. NExt, crank any cold deisel long enuff in the cold and it will start as long as there is good fuel.

Well mine 2450 Starts her in Norway in 20 minus with no heather of any kind. Thats what i call a cold start!
