If Chile does not give Bolivia a sovereign corridor to the pacific ocean, Bolivian Constitution will nullify the 1929 treaty signed with Chile after the war where Chile anexed (stolen by force) bolivian ports. Peru took Chile to the Court of the Hague to solve maritime border dispute, Bolivia will do the same unless and until Chile agrees to cede a sovereign corridor to Bolivia.

Ese año, según les relató Piñera, vence el plazo establecido por el artículo 9° transitorio de la nueva Constitución de Bolivia, que establece que todos los acuerdos firmados por La Paz deben estar en línea con la carta magna. Esto inquieta a Chile, pues podría llevar a Morales a desahuciar el tratado limítrofe de 1929. La razón: la misma Constitución dice que se debe buscar una salida soberana al Pacífico.
