The State Park Youth Corps program, launched in spring 2010 by Gov. Jay Nixon, provided jobs to 1,000 youth ages 17-24 throughout the summer. They worked in Missouri's 85 state parks and historic sites doing a variety of jobs from landscaping and maintenance to artifact documentation and archaeological studies. The program has benefited the Youth Corps members, the parks and sites and ultimately the public that comes to visit the state park system.
