  • @winifredatwell According to rock historian Glenn A Baker, the show in Melbourne in '72 was one of the best he ever saw. Joe was a bit under the weather and at one stage asked his guitarist for "a blues in G" and then proceeded to do an ad lib song that tipped a bucket on immigration minister of the day, Dr. Forbes, who was working hard to get Joe deported. Then Baker said Joe delivered a white hot set that knocked everyone for six. Still a class act after all these years.

  • Just wonderful of you to post this. This was Joe in the intermediate period between the "wasted Years" and his climb back to the top in the early eighties. He is in great form here. Incidentally people who have toured with him say that he does some of his best concerts here in Australia. His final show in Melbourne in 1972, which he only did by virtually eluding a police escort after a wildly unfair drug bust, is still legendary. The audience virtually stormed the stage when he did Little Help.

  • Thanks Joe you are an inspiration.
