Displays the tempo of an analysed piece of music, rounded
up to the nearest whole number. When an audio source is routed to the auto beat detector, a
dot in the bottom right hand corner will flash to indicate that
BPM analysis is taking place. The display can also show the BPM to the nearest decimal
place by pressing and holding the TAP button. This will shift all digits one place to the left.
If the internal MIDI clock has been disabled OFF will be continuously displayed.

  • This feature is the most interesting on this mixer (IMO) because you can retain the art of true manual mixing between 1200's or CDJ's while incorporating technology like Ableton in real time / tempo.

So you don't find you have to use the MIDI clock push / pull switch to speed up or slow down the Ableton BPM once you've synced to an external source such as a CDJ in order to get the tempo just right?

    Thanks for your feedback.

  • @organic79 As long as the 4D has a good source to reads it's BPM from you will not need to push or pull the clock to keep your software locked to your analogue source.

The 4D only needs 5 beats to calculate the BPM so by the 5th beat the BPM is registered.

  • The BPM analyser is incredibly accurate... One of the most accurate on the market.

You can set how you trigger clips in Ableton and I have never had any difficulties syncing to an external source such as a CDJ.

  • Thank you Mrcuss. Saving up for this. Can't wait to implement this beast.

  • Mr Cuss: how accurate is the BPM analyzer as far as driving the MIDI clock to drive (for example) clips in Ableton? Can you trigger ableton clips in real time and have them actually be in beat with the BPM souce (such as a CDJ)?
