'Green Afternoon' was a song performed regularly by Bill's 'Above Ground' band in 1983/84, debut band for Maryrose Willkinson (bass), Stuart Page (drums), and Carol Woodward (keyboards). It appears on the group's self-published 1983 cassette-only release 'Gone Aiwa'.

'Green Afternoon' is performed here at the Bilders' 'Mindful' album release gig at the Depot Artspace, Devonport, 20/10/2010 by an unrehearsed spontaneous line-up consisting of The Axemen's Stevie McCabe (guitar) & Stu Kawowski (drums) joining Brett Cross (bass) and of course Bill Direen (vocals & guitar) of the current Bilders line-up.

Other performers on the night included Richard Anderton (vocals), Jonathan Crayford (Fender Rhodes), Peter Scott (double bass) and Mark Howden (guitar).
