The weather system that dumped the snow came from the South, and it's wetness a result of the odd South Pacific weather. So you can tell that a lot of it is because of jet streams, or air currents.

Climate is just a factor in this whole thing and Fox, as usual, is misinforming its viewers hoping they believe it. I guess not enough people know about chemical kinetics to guess otherwise.
