@u03rhm3 but its good music nonetheless and there no one like this right now and she also makes something different with the original. so it can be avantgarde as well, not as extremist as she used to be however.

Not everyone is deep enough to feel good stuff like this. Those sirens in the background are arresting. Love this.

@SerpentGoddess agreed, she has been a favourite of mine since I first heard her...her book 'the shit of God' is
avant-garde literature..pleased to have it

@SerpentGoddess agreed- but this is not avant garde... regardless of your taste- you should apreciate "good music". avant garde can be good... this is not avant garde- nor "a classic"

This version is really emotional, but I think it hasn't got the power of Edith's interpretation... And the voice of Edith is undoubty the best.
Though, nice song.

Great cover song

She doesn't do Avant Garde anymore, but this is overwhelmingly beautiful

Why is Diamanda Galas releasing so many goddamn cover albums? 'Malediction and Prayer' was extraordinary, but i don't understand what 's so avantgarde about what she is doing nowadays. especiallly since she doesn't really mess with the originals all that much.
It's true, Diamanda is not for everyone. She sings for a select group who appreciate a very avant garde form of music. She is very extreme and unusual, if you don't like it, don't listen. It is as simple as that.

I think there's quite a lot inbetween where Diamanda and Britney are at.
