ThinkPad Anti-Theft Tool

A program monitors the APS (Active Protect System) on the ThinkPad to detect sudden movement of the laptop. It'll play a alarm sound when such movement detects.

This is only a software feature. Hence the notebook has to be on, so really no great advantage if in your bag in the library or bus? no that means if u steal a desktop wid a 21" crt it will make a noise lol. Not a hardware ie Lenovo selling feature really?

Yes this is only a software feature. It's meant to work in the situation like if you were in a library and you suddenly want to use the restroom, you can turn this feature on till you get back. I made it myself, it has nothing to do with Lenovo (except I used its accelerometer).

@Checkmatemate1 I don't think it's meant for that... I think its meant for, like, you go into the other room, leaving the ThinkPad on. Your brother, who likes to take your stuff, tries to to take. Then the alarm goes off.

@Checkmatemate1 Yeah still useful though, lets say you're in a coffee shop and go out momentarily for a cigarette, or to get a refill or something, or use the washroom.

I actually programmed my own version of this not that long ago. O_o It runs in the background and is enabled by pressing a certain button on the keyboard, but instead of sounding a constant alarm it's just one loud beep each time movement is detected.

Hi, I have on my W700ds special anti theft system build in on hardware layer, but it's has couple things what I don't want. But this tool could be sometimes handy, nice job. Could you send me a link to this tool?
