"Open Up Those Gates" is one of the new songs added to the previously released CD "To Angel Fire and Back" by Shareen. The original CD was dedicated to Vietnam Veterans and their families and released on Memorial Day 2001 at the Angel Fire Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Only 4 months later, America experienced terrorism as the Twin Towers came down, and since that time we have been involved in war. with over 4, 000 lives lost in the Irag and Afghanistan wars, Shareen felt it was time to expand the CD and release it again, this time dedicated to all soldiers who have sacrificed so much. "Open Up Those Gates" was composed by Bruce Schmidt, who is also a Vietnam Veteran. When Shareen heard this song, she knew it had to be a part of her work.
