In an obvious attempt by Mayor Lowe to shut down public comment on the Biomass plant he declares, without public notice, that those who prepared for a 3 minute comment suddeenly only have 2 minutes to speak. AS he pretends to add up the requests to total 27, he uses this ficticiously high number to justify the suddden 2 minute limit that adds to further pent-up frustration in the gallery.

The Mayor's dishonest math is revealed when he calls only 16 names for public comment - not the 27 he originally used as a pretext to limit embarrassing talk about the Biomass plant Boondoggle.

The Mayor declares a 5 minute recess following a "genuine" outburst of applause from the gallery when former Mayor Mac McEachern calls Mayor Lowe to task for limitig his time to speak without adequate notice.
The clock reveals the 5 minute recess is stretched to 13 minutes for no sufficient cause in the first place - especially with an agenda that threatened to run the meeting past the 11 PM deadline - an arbitrary time limit subject to

temporary rule change as needed when the clock nears 11 PM. These motions are routine and customary to extend a meeting past an arbitrary deadline to responsibly complete the people's business while allowing adequate time for public comment.

Past presentations by citizens with expertise in power generation strategies have proved a significant threat to GRU'S ongoing and questionable pursuit of Biomass generation using offshore money-changers.

In his allotted 2 minutes former PSC Commissioner Nathan A. skop succeeded in devastating the city's assertion that GRU is contracting to build anything approximating "affordable" biomass energy when Skop revealed Progress Energy had already secured financing for Biomass energy at nearly half the cost per unit proposed by the GRU boondoggle.

Skop's devasting 2 minutes may cost the Mayor months of gief when skop writes a press release demanding new hearings on GRU'S Biomass Boondoggle.

The voters who contributed to support Mayor Lowe's election to office have also earned the right to denounce him.

It's now our goal to seek the immediate resignation of Mr. Lowe on grievances that, by association, irreversably tarnish the integrity of the entire Gainesville City commission. -- For not only failing to represent his own constituents in the past many months but for insulting citizens by blatantly lying to them in a public meeting and for defending a seriously failed GRU project that has finally been revealed as worse than a hoax - in fact an energy tax, on energy supplied to all of Alachua GRU cusomers.
