This awesome track is like the interlude/ background music of one traveling back in time to a fond & youthful period, to gain back what was lost, what is longing for, and to make right of what is now in the future, the present... I've made that mistake, and I would do anything to go back to that moment when I said goodbye to someone who I could have had a life of good fortune & promise with...suddenly, "Head over heels" signifies the arrival of that very moment... how I wish this was true...

@SUPERSPANKS may be so, but Broken came out as the B side of Pale Shelter in 1982, Head over Heels was released two years later, so I presume Broken was written first then modified. In their live concerts they've always sandwiched them together.

@STRANGERINMOSCOW1 Head over heals and this are meant to go together

I love this track, it's a faster version of Head over Heels. Probably wrote this one first then worked on it, slowed it down and Head over Heels was born... both fantastic tracks. One of the eighties best groups, not like some of the crap that's out now.

Funny how.. time flies.....
I remember listening to SOTBC over and over whilst on holiday when I was 15. I'm now 38 and I still love that album.

Funny how good things come in small pachages,,,2:39 of pure beauty. I had the special edition of The big chair with songs like "sea song" it was purely magical. Roland has an amazing voice to this day !!!
This track is arguably the best track Tears For Fears made, apart from the bridge section, the synthesizer and overdriven guitar combination constantly drives the song forward, and with the vocals coming in at 1:43 bringing the entire track alive.
