An uncommon sight these days, three IC engines without yellow stripes teamed up together. Filmed on May 4 2008 at East Lena.

  • Lucky urs was going like 12 mph i JUST chased one like 13 miles because it was going 70 XD

  • awesome video, illinois central engines are very interesting since unlike other engines most IC engines are just plain black with the number on the side and the lettering on the door of the locomotive, a few weeks ago at joliet union station while railfanning there i got the chance to talk to a man waiting for an amtrak train which i soon found out he was a former illinois central railroad manager (trainmaster or somthin like that) and that he had been working for them for 30 years or so!

  • Nothing beats the sound of 2 things on the rails. 1-A good trio of EMD's beating the air. 2-A good tuned set of Nathan P5's!

  • Awsome P5! I saw that unit (#1025) in a BNSF "sandwich" :) 2 days ago

  • Lena, IL Seems like a kick ass place....LOL Maybe a small town....But them boys down there sure know how to move some freight! CLASSIC as a pearl necklace!

  • Maybe let me guess be possible between 10,000 ton to 15,000 tons.......

  • can any 1 guess how much this weight?

  • Wow. Plenty of cool sound and very fun to watch them traversing the switch! Nice engines too, definitely!

  • another awsome shot!

  • first...i agree that i've always liked the black paint scheme better than the orange and white, and second...watching this vid makes me wanna weather boxcars with graffiti for my layout....lol.
