@asymmetrisch professional FDM 3D printers use solvable support structures. Maybe one day I will build a dual extruder to do that too.

It would be clever if the 3D printer could build the support structure with a different material that dissolves in water, so that you could just wash it off.

Will these be painted?
If so, do you intend to paint them yourself or commission someone to paint them for you.

@TheMcSqueakers No, I didn't planed to paint them. I'm not going to sale them either but if you really want 3D printed ponies, companies like shapeways offer a 3D printing service and they can print in color.
