After questioning from Green Party MP Sue Kedgley Education Minister Anne Tolley confirmed in Parliament that she totally ignored risks to young New Zealander's health when she removed the School Food Guidelines.
Anne Tolley admitted during Parliament's Question Time Wednesday 29 April 2009 that she had not sought any advice from Ministry of Health officials regarding the consequences to kiwi kids health when she removed the Guidelines.
She went to the minister of health, the Minister of Health could have convened a meeting to confer any items they themselves felt needed further embellishment/research information..She further stated that the parents of the children were on a committee at the school & capable of & in charge of making said decisions regarding nutrition & food items provided for sale.

Tolley didn't answer the question. A nearby store selling crap is no reason for schools to sell it. It sounds like this is about money made from school food.....not about making good food available for students. Once again the National Party puts the cash ahead of the kids.
