http://www.ntv.co.ke As the government steps up efforts for more Kenyans to get tests, one group in Western Kenya has moved on. The group has long accepted the status of its members who are living near normal lives. But as NTVs Ray Polo reports, the dark cloud of stigma never really clears

  • @72okoths: You're a wreck...this is a national and an international disaster and all yu ever think about is kukuyu kukuyu?...what a desperate person you are! Why don't u crawl somewhere near a river curl up and drown? How will cases from a particular community help mitigate (reduce, bum) the stigma and pain HIV AIDs has brought on people? Kwanini u spreading ujinga wako hivi? U need help, seriously!

  • Do you have to see tribes in everything? Can't you just see people as human beings if not fellow kenyans? What is wrong with you?!?! We are in the 21st century start thinking like a civilised person. Whether Luo or Kikuyu they are human beings suffering, AIDS and poverty doesn't choose according to tribes. It is primitive idiots who see tribes and groupings everywhere.

  • This 72etc chap is just trolling.

  • @daniel.u r really suck, you are remote, ignorant very stupid like your ass and absolutely foolish.wake up man!!!tribalism not something to be proud off in kenya now.Get some civic education mother fucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!! u must ber an old fellow who doesnt know where he is coming and going.mavi ya kuku.

  • @dan: Absolutely...yu are more likely to get gunned down by a 'stray' police bullet or an arrow from an election dispute...get the right food right meds and yu could plan a future while living with AIDS! It's not a death sentence! Thanks for sharing ur Mom conversation here!

  • I was just talking to my mom about this issue this morning. Aids is probably the one of the least dangerous disease today in Kenya if you go by fatalities. Malaria kills in ten days, cholera 24hrs, but noooo! some won't even touch a person living with aids. So out of the fear of being lonely most people will never reveal their status. Thus the cycle continues...

  • Watu waache upuzi. The fact is the people shown are positive and living positively. How tribe comes in beats me! How come no one complains that other tribes are not being mentioned when the focus is on "good" things?

  • People fear the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS, n that leads to silence ultimately to an untimely death! Kenyan communities lack appropriate heath care services, relevant factual education about the pandemic and a legal infrastructure to defend themselves against families capitalizing on their circumstances! Help Stop the Prejudice!

  • greedykenyan men grab family land and property and deny their sisters access, shame
