Ottoman Assembly by Inventor, Douglas Green

Douglas Green, owner and lead designer at Green Design Furniture Co., demonstrates the assembly of an Ottoman using his patented joinery technique. Instead of relying upon glues or fasteners, the solid wood components slide and lock together with a series of precision-cut sliding tapered dovetails, much like a Japanese puzzle box. Green has been a pioneer in sustainable furniture manufacturing processes since 1993. Since September 2008, Green Design Furniture has provided furnishings for two institutional architectural projects that are slated for LEED Platinum certification.
