If she means to describe an unbiased and accepting environment for the exchange of ideas then she is incorrect.

There are definitely numerous organizations on campus with varying political perspectives and groups who make their presences known and felt, but I would say they (the political parties) are still as closed-minded towards each other as their counterparts anywhere else in the world.

It takes effort and interaction with these groups of people.
