Keelings Donabate 2011 "you are my everything"

2011...? hmmmmmm. Started off amazing jumping 1m courses and doing our first BSJA.
The beginning of summer everything went down hill, refusals, rearing, naughtiness, change in attitude. Literally broke my heart. We had teeth, back checked everything was fine. Everyone noticed he'd changed into something he was not. We had one vet to look at him, they told us he has spensory dimititus in his back leg and sesamoiditis in his right fetlock, they told us this would take months to recover and he could never be a serious show jumper again, they also said he needed to be warmed up for 25mins before jumping, which i thought was strange because keel would be really tired before he'd even started jumping? he was on box rest for a couple of weeks and turned into a small pen for 6 weeks then they said i had to walk him for a month in straight lines everyday for 10mins then it led to trot. I started trotting him and he was still lame? then it got worse and he could hardly walk let alone trot or canter. After spending a lot of money with those vets everything they told us didn't work?..
We then got recommended a vet that deals with race horses he came to asses him a couple of times did scans etc on both legs at home so i got to see all of this. Which the other vets said they could even scan him because he went mental? hmmm? Our new vet said there was nothing wrong with his back leg but he did have sesamoiditis in his right front feltlock. We finally got to the bottom of it we them gave him a injection which he had to be put to sleep for, it was the worst experience tbh as i helped with this process with it been at home. We left him for a couple of weeks and then i slowly brought him back into work.

Ever since he has come back into work he's been amazing and working better than before. His attitude is back to normal and he's a happy pony again! Our setback was pretty big but i think our comeback is gonna be a big one! Taking him to a show on saturday hopefully and we'll see what happens if all goes to plan we'll start BSJA again so bring on 2012....
