Russian Ambassador to Malaysia Vorobyeva Lyudmila Georgievna visited CM Lim Guan Eng on 27 October, 2010. Her Excellency talked about Russia's historics bond with Penang. During the World World One, a Russian cruiser was attacked by the Germans on 28 October, 2010.
Some of the soldiers who died were buried here in Penang and she is here to attend the memorial for these heroes.
Her Excellency also expressed the interest to work closely with Penang in relations to tourism and other industries.
The Russian ship was attacked by the Germans on 28th October 1914 (not 2010!).
