Hello! I'm Diana, I'm 38 and I have fibromyalgia. I lead a very active and happy life. I tried all the pharmaceutical cocktails for fibromyalgia, but didn't much like feeling fat, bloated, drugged-up, dizzy, disoriented, and suicidal. So, I decided I'd search online and network with other folks who had fibromyalgia. I ended up finding out there is just about as much misinformation, as there is information, about fibromyalgia on the Internet. But, eventually, I decided I would the "Guaifenesin Protocol" pioneered by Dr. R. Paul St. Amand.

This particular segment focus on: "What is mapping?"

  • Weak tea/tea that is not too strong is perfectly fine. Medicinal teas can block Guaifenesin. So, if you buy a tea that is supposed to, let's say, help you lose weight, that would be a medicinal tea. If you are making yourself a cup of Celestial Season's soothing blackberry tea, or something, that is not a medicinal tea. Just don't leave the teabag in there steeping forever. Regular tea is OK.

  • does anyone know if fibro affects your eyesight. My eyes are suddenly going so blurry...I can hardly see even with my glasses. I can't read books but the internet is all lit up so it's easier. I have an appt with an opthamologist in 4 weeks. Also, an Indian Dr. here in Florida is giving my hydrocodine for my pain. Is that a good thing? Some ppl at work seem to think it is very dangerous but don't say why.

  • Hello Sara- Yes, fibro can effect the eyes. I know for sure that it seriously dries out your eyes. Hold on a second, and I'll grab Dr. St. Amand's book and find out what other kind of stuff it does to the eyes. You are very wise to have made an appointment with a specialist.good to get it checked out and make sure there is nothing else going on,other than fibro. Is hydrocodone a good thing? It helps with the pain, and is less addictive than oxycontin. All opiods are addictive, of course.-D.

  • what tea are you drinking? I thought that was a plant product and therefore not allowed.

  • Good for you! Hooray!

  • Yah im going Back on Gua, i gave up but now im doing it again.

  • @XxEnviixX sunflower seeds?? ive never heard of that one where did u get that info from? how much do you take? how long before it helped? i take tramadol 100mg at a time, only thing that relieves symptoms

  • Fibrolmyalgia hascontrolled my life for over six years. I found the magic bullet to alleviate 100% of my symptoms. Eat sunflowerseeds! No more physicians, medication, supplements, therapists, etc. I also drink around 1/4 cup of sunflower oil a day.

  • I wish you the best of luck with your upcoming doctor appointments. You are on a terrific path, and are going about this in a very wise way. Networking online with others who have fibromyalgia is a great way to share information, find out what works, and what doesn't. Be wary of anyone who tells you they can "cure" fibromyalgia. As of right now, it is incurable. There is NO wonder pill that will simply take the pain away. I wish there was. No $100 a bottle herbal crap can do that. Beware.
