Nature in the big city! Established in 1886, this park is one of the oldest in Los Angeles and is kept natural and beautiful despite the urban sprawl all around it! Located just northeast of downtown LA, the park is known for it's scenic public areas and awesome views!
The San Gabrieleno Indians were said to have been living here when the first European explorers led by Gaspar De Portola discovered this area in about 1769.

  • hahaha. the 405? Wrong side of the city. That's the 5, and I don't know why, but this video creeps me out. What's up with the huge segment dedicated to traffic on the 5? Great park though!

  • Yeah, that's a view of the 5 below, included in the video to show the awesome views when looking out and the contrast from the peaceful green natural, country like park to the busy urban concrete artery of Los Angeles, that helps to make it a great park!

  • i love elysian park.

  • I know that Elysian park sits on a major fault-line. Which is a very scary reality.

I will definetely check it out in the least though, because that is a killer view of the 405 below!
