This is an awesome video. Plain and simple.
I first saw "Cosmos" when I was 10 years old and it has haunted me ever since.
Dr. Sagan was a brilliant thinker and a dreamer. There is no greater story than the story of the Cosmos and man's journey through it.
Dr. Sagan also had tremendous taste in music as he personally chose much of the music for the show, such as the closing section of "Heaven and Hell, Part I" by Vangelis, which is used here.

It might sound funny to say this about a TV show, but 'Cosmos' came along at a time when I was going through a dark personal crisis, and it helped me through it. That wonderful showed helped me to feel some hope again. Thank you, Carl Sagan. You are missed.

Precisely. It was either Herodotus or Xenophon who observed (paraphrase): "The Ethiopians worship Black gods. If horses had deities, they'd gallop, neigh and be venerated with golden hay".
As sage Hindus observed (sighted by Sagan in Cosmos, Chapter 10, The Edge of Forever), gods are the dreams of men.
