a real baba DOES smoke charras. But there are so many fake-babas around... But never mind too much, the banyan has left that place and grows into the jungle. The holy place is no more..too sad. Stupid tourists and wannabe-babas have destroyed the place.

+real babas or not real babas +what they smoke,i am not a expert ,but i remember ;rocket baba ,rocket stands for chillum ,smoked chaddas all day long ,he was funny ,nmany people call him tourist baba +but he was very social,but had a weakness for foreign girls ,hahaha,but looked really like old original saddhu.

@TheDolphinstone dont sleep in the jungle with your possecions,i slept or staid in in arambol jungle ,allso next to mango tree ,does anybody know this tree next to the small river near the lake,but long time ago one morning there was a snsake next to my head,but she left ,no trouble ,the biggest thiefs are the monkeys ,they allways watch you ,+you may dont see them,but they know every of your movements.

@SunRaIV I lived 10 years almost constantly in India, and I met several babas and they DID smoke Charas! It was well hidden in the hundreds of little pouches within their baba bags...of course they mostly smoke Bhang (Charas mixed with one drop of water, kneaded for ever in the palm of the hand...A very pleasant ceremony, another way of smoking). In Nepal, I smoked temple-Balls with many nepali women...up in the Anapurna....nice memories...

@AnaDiLupis holy man smoke only ganja, I was travelling 12 times to india and smoke a lot with the saddhus: Most of them smoke only weak ganja at daytime and said to me dont mix with the strong one. charras had opium inside also- you get scratchy after some time.

Every Banyan Tree is sacred to Hinduists and Buddhists. What you write makes me say: PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM INDIA, you don't love it or respect it...LEAVE IT!! It's people like you that I wished they would never have come to India ever...

I respect every single one who took care of the Banyan in the years since the first foreigners came to Arambol (Bernadette, in 1962!), but I was the one making fun of their Dogmatism, if it was Cesario or Mira , Jungli or whoever...Nothing against valuable rules(keep the Duni clean, how to smoke a Chillum properly etc.) but sometimes thay went to far..
