A Film by Harold L. Franklin based on the nation's largest redevelopment project. In the 1880's , a two square area of land located at the tip of Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was called Elmwood by a land company of that name. The section was later named Eastwick after a prominent Philadelphian, Andrew M. Eastwick. The name Elmwood now applies to a different section several miles to the West.
I saw something similar to this on the Drexel university TV station several years ago. I would like to purchase or rent this video for my mother to see. She and Her siblings grew up in ellemwood (aka) Eastwick.

Great film! My father's family lived in "The Meadows" section of Southwest Philadelphia...the city kicked them out and never built anything where their house used to stand.....sad.
