A Film by Harold L. Franklin based on the nation's largest redevelopment project. In the 1880's , a two square area of land located at the tip of Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was called Elmwood by a land company of that name. The section was later named Eastwick after a prominent Philadelphian, Andrew M. Eastwick. The name Elmwood now applies to a different section several miles to the West.

  • I saw something similar to this on the Drexel university TV station several years ago. I would like to purchase or rent this video for my mother to see. She and Her siblings grew up in ellemwood (aka) Eastwick.

  • Great film! My father's family lived in "The Meadows" section of Southwest Philadelphia...the city kicked them out and never built anything where their house used to stand.....sad.
