Geta Sandals 2

well this is my second time doin this. i dont know wat wood i made it out of so dont ask. i know the washers make the geta look ugly but the holes were too big so i thought of just combining the screw (acting as an achor)with a washer. i stained it and gave it a polyurethane coat.

thats some ghetto scariness... geta are supposed to be carved out of one block of wood so u dont have those crazy huge screws in them lol.

Wood glue for the Ha (teeth or cleats) instead of screws. Good work.

Yeah, I would buy them if I found a store that sold them and I would wear them all the time. But I think I will have to go to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles for that or send away over the internet. I may do that in the near future. I would most likely love them more than all my other shoes. :)

@Flowerpowernluv I agree. It'd be a big hit nowdays, in Europe atleast, and the one who will invest money in this will hit the big time, I'd do that in my area, but I don't have any money right now.

I think the shoes are great. Obviously you are not trying to follow the traditional geta style but put your own spin on it. You know what you could do? This could be a really big hit in yoru area, especially with everyone going green. They have no rubber soles! Wood takes a fraction of the time to biograde that rubber does. Since your geta shoe is slightly different, get a patant & sell them in great quantity. Make the washers 1/4 inch deeper and fill with wood glue of the same color.

there are some wood working techniques you can try on those slats/cleats so you won't have to screw them. the real ones are glued on and replaceable.

Thats your second pair and you still got them wrong! They actually look worse than your first attempt. Also you should have made them wide enough for you Fred Flintstone feet. Try it again my friend, third time is a charm.
