Virtual Riding TV's first test ride with the Sony HXR-MC1 Digital HD Camera Video Recorder. Please Note: For the purpose of this test the audio was not altered. I agree with all of the comments regarding the wind noise. Once the testing is complete, videos will be posted with music and the audio adjusted accordingly. This footage was shot in the Fraser Canyon from Hope to The Last Spike Point of Interest located between Spences Bridge and Ashcroft British Columbia, Canada.
Your comments and ratings are always appreciated.
(Test #1 Setting: Rec Mode: AVC HD 16m FH/Micref Level: Normal)

VRIDETV.com is Virtual Riding Television.
Imagine mounting a high definition camcorder to the handlebars of a motorcycle then riding across the second largest country in the world. With this point of view you will experience the sensation of riding through ten provinces of Canada, coast to coast, round trip, for a total of 18,795 kilometers. This trip may be over but the riding and filming continues........................................

  • If you already answered this question, please excuse my ignorance.....but what state is this??? Very very beautiful scenery

  • @dowblab This video was taken between Yale and the Last Spike point of interest that is about 20 minutes south of Cache Creek, British Columbia Canada. Thanks for watching Virtual Riding TV

  • can i connect it with a wireless transmitter like jonesCAM LX does as the sony is one piece opposit the jonesCAM LX has cables to plug

  • Hello aeroahmed,

Great question, but it's one I'm unable to answer. I suggest asking a Sony Representative or the maker of the wireless transmitter. (let me know what you find out)

    Ride Safe,

    Best regards,

    Jeff

  • Will this camera fit onto a half shell type helmet? Also, can you mount it on different locations on a bike?

  • Hello outlawdave2,

Yes, I think it would fit onto a half shell helmet with out any problem. The Sony HXR-MC1 camera head is very compact measuring; 1 1/2 x 1 1/16 x 3 1/2 inches (37x42.5x86.5 mm)

Yes you can also mount it on different locations on the bike, it has a cable length of 9.18 feet (2.8 meters).

There is a dedicated webpage on Vridetv showcasing the HXR-MC1 with videos, images, mounting bracket and lens protectors, etc.

More footage will be posted in the next couple of weeks.

  • Awesome as always mate :)

Very good video quality and smooth. Good to see you aren't one of these guys who shakes their head around too much.

Wind noise completely normal but of course can be edited out completely or reduced for ambience while adding sound tracks as you plan to do.

I like the setup. How much for the cam?

Any other equipment required or is the cam a complete unit...SD card or Hard drive?

  • What a quality!!!
